Kebangsaan Senior High School Visits IPB University, Performs Curriculum Alignment K2020

Toto Priyana, Chair II of the Taman Taruna Kebangsaan Institute and 5 Kebangsaan Senior High School teachers visited the Directorate of Studies and Academic Development (DPPTP) IPB University, (17/1). The purpose of this group’s arrival is to do the curriculum alignment with K2020 which has been implemented by IPB University.

According to Mr. Toto, currently Kebangsaan Senior High School uses the 2013 national curriculum plus a special curriculum. Of course it is deemed necessary to carry out a transformation in adjusting to the phenomenon of millennial disruption, technology and competence. This is also a disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic. Senior high school graduates are not required to enter service institutes. Their students are qualified and have great potential. So, at this time Kebangsaan Senior High School really needs a curriculum design that embodies these advantages and potentials.

“There is a desire from Kebangsaan Senior High School to carry out an alignment with the Freedom of Learning–Independence Campus (MBKM) policy that has been running. IPB University, through DPPTP, has of course concocted a strong learning curriculum structure. We are here because we want to do a curriculum alignment with IPB University, which we know is managed very well by the DPPTP,” said Toto Priyana as the leader of the Kebangsaan Senior High School group and also Chair of the Taman Taruna Kebangsaan Institute (LPTTK).

Responding to this, Ir Lien Herlina, MSc as the Director of DPPTP explained that Kebangsaan Senior High School requires resilience and a strong learning ecosystem. It is time for high school students to no longer be confined, but to be given independence so that they become more outstanding students.

“What would learning be like in the future, is our way of dealing with millennial disruption, technology and competence. We need to change the fixed mindset to a growth mindset. So that there is a learning journey with a pattern of knowledge creation, not just knowledge exit. High school teachers have to hack themselves, have to unlock their thoughts, so that their students become even better,” said Ms. Lien.

This meeting is planned to make a collaboration in forming a curriculum at the Kebangsaan Senior High School so that it is more in line with the MBKM policy and also the current regulations that apply. Collaboration in updating learning programs between DPPTP IPB University and Kebangsaan Senior High School Is of course a necessity.
